The Roberta-Angell Prize was first awarded in 2008 to École primaire Saint-Rémi for their two-year long project, on which all students and school staff participated and which ended with 3 performances of a giant puppets show telling the history of Beaconsfield. The $500 prize was presented to the school principal, Mme Geneviève Alain, at the end of the May 15th, 2008 performance of the Giant Puppets Show.
