Heroes Park History

 

The Beaurepaire-Beaconsfield Historical Society was honoured to be an active participant in the committee overseeing the construction of a Cenotaph to honour the memory of those who served and sacrificed, in service to the community and the nation in times of war and peace.

Opening Ceremony

 

The official opening ceremony of the Heroes' Park took place on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, with special guest His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada and Private William Ross of the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, veteran of the D-Day assault.

Member of Parliament for Lac-Saint-Louis, Francis Scarpaleggia, MNA for Jacques-Cartier, Geoffrey Kelley, Honorary Colonel, Jim Killin and representatives of local associations lay wreaths

 

Ceremony to mark Remembrance Day
Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.

Ceremony organized by the Heroes Park Committee in collaboration with the Air Cadets. Mayor Georges Bourelle and the members of the Beaconsfield Council as well as MP Francis Scarpaleggia were present.

Cérémonie organisée par le Comité du Parc des Héros en collaboration avec les Cadets de l'Air. Le maire Georges Bourelle et les membres du Conseil de Beaconsfield ainsi que le député fédéral Francis Scarpaleggia seront présents.
